Research interest

Biology of social insects, especially the termites, caste systems and ontogeny, hormonal regulation of caste differentiation, chemical ecology of termites, diversity, function and biosynthesis of termite pheromones and defensive compounds, primer and releaser pheromones, breeding systems in termites, longevity in social insects, biostatistics.
