About our group

Dmytro Yushchenko Group was terminated as of 31 December 2020. The content of this page is no longer updated and serves for archive purposes only.

The research interests of our group are focused on the development of biochemical tools to study the biology of amyloidogenic proteins and lipid‐mediated cell signaling. We investigate the mechanisms of cytotoxicity of Parkinson's disease‐associated protein α‐synuclein and construct inhibitors of its fibrillization. We develop photocaged and photoswitchable molecules that permit spatio‐temporal control of protein and lipid activity in living cells as well as solvatochromic probes for sensing protein‐membrane interactions.
