On October 10th, Professor Jan Žďárek received the Prize of Chairman of the Council for Research and Development for the promotion and popularization of science and research.
An internationally recognized entomologist, Jan Žďárek worked at the Entomological Institute and the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences. He is the author of a series of publications in which he described the life of insects to the public and gained new enthusiasts for entomology.
