IOCB Prague welcomes Prof. Robert A. Weinberg, one of the world's most distinguished biologists, as a new member of its International Advisory Board. 

IOCB’s International Advisory Board is composed of some of the top chemists and biologists from around the world whose main task is to evaluate the research groups at IOCB, provide feedback and suggest future goals and strategies for the institute.

Robert A. Weinberg is Daniel K. Ludwig Professor for Cancer Research at Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research at MIT, MA, USA. In his research, he is focused on the origin and spread of cancer and is known for his discoveries of the first human oncogene Ras and the first tumor suppressor gene Rb. Prof. Weinberg is a member of the American Philosophical Society, U.S. National Academy of Sciences, and Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. He is also a laureate of numerous science awards, e.g. Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences (2013) or most recently Japan Prize (2021).
