Abstract

The aim of the thesis will be the enzymatic synthesis of DNA bearing diverse sugars or glycans. The project will start with synthesis of diverze sugar- or glycan-linked dNTPs and their enzymatic incorporation into DNA. It will be followed by development of site-specific methods and syntheses of DNA probes bearing glycans at specific positions for targeting of relevant lectins. Collaboration with Prof. S. Messaoudi in Paris and Prof. Carmen Galan in Bristol.

Universities

PhD students must be enrolled in a partner university and will be employed by the IOCB Prague at the same time (part-time or full time), which results in a competitive salary (a scholarship from the university + a salary from the IOCB). Each university has its own process, terms, and deadlines for PhD applications, which is separate from the IOCB recruitment process. You may discuss the details with the respective PI.
