Thermo Fisher Scientific Glacios
The Glacios is a 200 kV fully automated cryo-electron microscope, equipped with the latest generation Falcon 4i direct electron detector. It is primarily used for screening grids to verify sample quality before, or in complement to, high-end Krios IV microscope sessions. The process is highly automated in a way of setting up short screening sessions with the EPU software and allows to remotely monitor the results “on the fly” with the Thermo Scientific CryoFlow Software environment. It enables quality assessment, live export, hierarchical data organization, and advanced reporting. The microscope is also suitable for cryo-electron tomography (cryo-ET), and micro-electron diffraction (MicroED) applications.

The Krios G4 is a 300 kV fully automated transmission cryo-electron microscope, designed for rapid, stable, high-resolution data collection on frozen-hydrated samples. The microscope is equipped with the latest generation Falcon 4i direct electron detector and is configured with the Thermo Scientific™ Selectris™ Imaging Filter and E-CFEG electron source. Full enclosure minimizes the influence of environmental factors and maximizes system stability. Fringe-Free Imaging system (FFI) contributes to better image quality due to less charging from smaller illumination and together with aberration-free image shift (AFIS) enhances the throughput of data collection. The Krios G4 is ideally suited for high-resolution single-particle analysis (SPA) and cryo-electron tomography (cryo-ET).
The Jeol JEM-2100PLUS is transmission electron microscope in cryogenic configuration. It is equipped with a high-tilt cryo-transfer sample holder and TVIPS TemCam-XF416 CMOS camera. The setup is suitable for basic screening for single particle analysis, electron tomography and electron diffraction. The implemented SerialEM software provides a wide range of presets for automated image acquisition, montage mapping and tomography in low-dose conditions. The microscope is completely suitable for room temperature applications.
